WHAT’S NEW IN DUBLIN?

Hynes’ Bar Pop-Up Gaeltacht and Seisiún Ceoil

In celebration of the Leinster Fleadh Cheoil, Hynes’ Bar in Stoneybatter are organising a Pop-Up Gaeltacht and Seisiún Ceoil all week. Expect great trad music all week and all musicians who wish to play tunes are welcome to call in. As always, anyone with a cupla focal can get a euro off their first drink when ordered as Gaeilge.

Street Food Party at Moore Street Market

Moore Street Market has just announced the line-up for their first ever Street Food Market. Expect plenty of great grub and an excellent line up of musical entertainment. The Street Food Market will run each Thursday from July 13th to August 3rd and will be open 5pm – 10pm. More details are available on the Moore Street Market instagram.

Throwing Shapes Announce New Dates

Dance studio, Throwing Shapes, have announced a new batch of dance classes for the summer. The classes will be held at the Liffey Trust Studios on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm, perfect for anyone looking to throw some shapes mid-week. Summer Festival Clothes Swap Party

Mind the Step Café have just announced the date of their Clothes Swap Party. The theme of the event will be summer festival clothing and takes place July 30th at 4pm. More info will be available on the Mind the Step Café instagram soon.

Northern Nights Christmas Parties

The Northern Nights Holiday Parties has announced its return to Dublin this Christmas season. Running from the 30th of November to the 8th of December, the parties fuse art and technology to create a kaleidoscopic Nordic wonderland with great scenery, entertainment, festive food & drinks. All kinds of Christmas parties will be welcome and you can get in touch via their website.

Closed for Renovations

MVP Bar on Clanbrassil Street has just announced that it will be closing for renovations. No re-opening date has been announced but the crew have promised some exciting changes. Keep an eye on their instagram for updates.

Dalkey Lobster Festival

The Lobster Festival makes its return to Dalkey this August 25th to 27th. Over 30,000 people are expected to attend the festival this year in Dalkey which will showcase seafood demonstrations from internationally recognised chefs, street food, events in Dalkey Castle, music entertainment and more. The festival is family friendly and is free to attend.

New City Centre Jazz Venue

The Improvised Music Co. opens the doors to its brand new jazz music venue on the 27th July in association with MusicTown Festival. Situated within The Complex in Smithfield, The Cooler is being launched as the home for jazz and improvised music in the heart of the city. Jazz and improvising musicians interested in using the space for rehearsal can contact IMC via the link.

Kyodai Izakaya

A new Japanese restaurant has recently opened on Eden Quay. Kyodai Izakaya brings high quality Japanese cuisine such as gyoza, ramen, kimchi, sake and cocktails to Dublin. It has a private function room, a traditional Irish bar and a vibrant nightclub. Check out their website for a look at the menu.

Dublin’s Fire Fest Returns

Fired Up Pizza’s “Fire Fest” returns this weekend Friday 14th till Sunday 16th. Expect delicious food from Fired Up, Dash Burger and Gauchos Hot Dogs. Ice cream will be supplied by Freddie’s Ice Cream and special guest DJs will be playing tunes each night. The event will have two bars to keep the party going until late. Entry is free and all info is available on the Fired Up instagram.

Dublin Modular Yard Party

Tickets for the Dublin Modular Yard Party have just gone on sale on Resident Advisor. The Yard Party takes place in the Complex on Saturday July 22nd and will be a combination of two separate events; DECAY, which will take place during the day from 3pm – 8pm and ATTACK, which will run into the night.
